1. Create and support workplace gender equality programs
The first step to advancing gender equality is to make time and space for honest conversations about women’s issues.
Advocate for internal meetings, such as town halls, to create safe spaces to educate allies, share personal experiences, and provide resources. Use the results of these meetings to mobilize and transform company culture. At our annual gender equality event, the Trailblazing Women Summit, we invite speakers from outside the company to elevate the conversation about gender equality in tech, business, media, politics and other industries.

In Asia, we are hosting internal events this week to support focus areas of inclusion, equality Bank User Number Data and philanthropy. Our staff will run 150 one-to-one coaching sessions with young people across the region. They will also participate in "I'm Awesome" sessions to celebrate achievements in the workplace and learn through discussions. We will gather in a circle of inspiration to energize the year ahead. We were also honored to have a fireside chat with Kim Underhill, President of Daughters of Tomorrow. We explore how it can help women in low-income communities gain access to sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Our internal employee resource group, Salesforce Women's Network (SWN), hosts these events to empower and inspire employees to lead without limits.
2. Provide universal benefits to all employees
As a company, re-evaluate your benefits programs to promote gender equality. Salesforce offers benefits to support individuals and families no matter where they are in life. We offer all parents paid parental leave, subsidized child care, surrogacy and maternity benefits, paid family medical leave and flexible time off. Additional support benefits for parents over the past year include enhanced family benefits such as child education or family childcare and carer support for elderly or frail relatives.
In addition to generous inclusive benefits, employees are encouraged to take work-life balance seriously. For example, when tennis star Serena Williams and her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their first child, Ohanian took 16 weeks off maternity leave.
3. Conduct a company-wide equal pay audit
Pay equality is one of the most obvious manifestations of inequality between men and women in the workplace. To address and understand pay gaps, conduct a comprehensive equal pay audit. This ensures realignment so that all employees, regardless of gender, receive equal pay.
